First Chevy SUV for the European market
Chevrolet presented Captiva compact SUV, designed especially for the European market.
Captiva will be offered with five or seven places and the customers may choose between front wheel drive and four wheel drive configuration.
A premiere is the introduction of the first turbodiesel for the European market. The engine uses common rail technology and develops 150 BHP from two liter displacement. Chevrolet offers another two gasoline engines, a 2,4 liter one (142 BHP) and a 3,2 liter V6 which is able to produce 225 BHP.
Captiva is the first Chevrolet in the European model range available with optional ESP system. The suspension layout is McPherson for the front axle and independent multi link in the back. The brakes promises good performance with standard all wheels ventilated discs. The sales will begin in June.
Last year, Chevrolet sold over 240.000 units in Europe and expect that Captiva will make good figures starting this year.
