Is the future Citroen DS4 a Golf R killer?

It seems that Citroen is aiming for a clientele who again have some fun out of driving and want to get little message for anonymous German eyes. After DS3R, soon a DS4R?

Citroën has its recent rally, a big natural history knowledge gained when it comes to sporty hatchback's.

In recent years, they have little was done.

Around 10 years back they had the Saxo VTS, since then we have little new stuff soon to come see it coming Citroën. In 2011, the Racing DS3 change that. With a 1.6 THP 207pk then makes its appearance. Is a DS3 tad small, never mind. The next two years, a rapid DS4 (draft) is expected.

The DS4 Racing Citroen seems quite to start packing. The drivetrain seems Hybrid4-Citroen to combine gasoline and block. The front wheels are powered by the 1.6 THP, the rear wheels to assist with 95pk electric power.

A total of 302 Volkswagen Golf R-eating horsepower and more Nm's. Emissions must be below 120 g / km CO2 it should be placed.

Such a vehicle requires of course a lot of research work and development. A production version of the DS4 Racing will therefore not earlier than 2013 driving around, writes Auto Express.

As a sop Citroën stops in the meantime probably still the 1.6 THP (207pk) without electric in DS4. For now a good competitor for Golf GTIs, Focus ST's and Giulietta's QV. Not as sharp as a 'real' racing, nice and fast.
